Wearing a flowing beige silk shirt from H&M and black shorts, paired with gold and black Guess heels, Seventeen-year-old Katelyn Antrobus turned heads as she walked towards the small café on Robson Street. Her long flowing brown hair framed her flawless face as she began to speak about how she entered into the modeling industry.

When she was younger, many people commented on her height hinting that she should look into a career in modeling. One day she decided to go to Pro Scout, a company that places aspiring models with agencies, and at just 16 she signed on with Jett Models.

The highlight of her career so far has been networking and meeting the many talented people in the industry, as well as doing fashion shows for Vancouver based clothing companies, Aritzia and BB Dakota. She's also done many photo shoots with local designer Asluxe.

Katelyn has also been featured in Modern Dog magazine, BC Fashion Week, as well as working with Felix Wong, Candace Meyer, Evan and Dean, Nicole Bridger of Flare magazine, and photographer Dexter Quinto.

"The most difficult thing for me has been listening to criticism and learning how to take it and turn it into something positive," explained Katelyn. "It's nothing I can't handle though!"

Full of adventure, Katelyn hopes that her career will allow her to travel to far flung destinations around the world. "I want to travel everywhere and anywhere and see everything." She's already spent some time modeling in Taipei, and ideally she'd like to end up in Europe's creative capital and home of her favourite international designer Valentino, Milan, or adrenaline-pumping Tokyo at some point in her life to further pursue her modeling career.

If she wasn't modeling, she'd like to be studying either fashion design or marketing or else be a back-up dancer as she did tap, jazz and ballet for 13 years but stopped in her final year of high school when her modeling career began to take off.
